The DOC Monteregio from Massa Marittima includes nine types of wine: Red, Red Reserve, Novello, White, Vermentino, Rose, Vin Santo and Vin Santo Reserve, Vin Santo Occhio di Pernice.
The Red has an intense ruby colour, winy fruity perfume, dry taste with an alcohol grade of a minimum of 11.5º. The Red Reserve has a ruby colour, a pomegranate tendency, winy perfume, intense and fruity, dry taste, 12º. Both wines are excellent to accompany sliced cold meats, roasts and game meats. The Novello (new wine) is different to the Red with its dry taste: sharp and slightly acidulous with an alcohol grade of 11º. It is excellent to accompany chestnuts.
The White has a pale soft yellow colour, intense and delicate perfume, dry taste and quite a full body with min alcohol of 11º. The Vermentino has a better colour with green reflexes, delicate perfume and characteristic, dry taste, soft and smooth with minimum alcohol grade of 11.5º. The Whites are perfect to accompany fish dishes, starters and soups. The Rose has an intense pink color, winy perfume, fruity and dry taste, with 11º grade.
The Vin Santo and Vin Santo Reserve have a pale yellow colour with a little bit of Amber, an airy perfume, intense and harmonious taste, smooth and round with 16º. The Vin Santo Occhio di Pernice is pink, a little less intense, warm with intense perfume, sweet taste, soft, smooth, round with min alcohol grade of 16º.
